It’s that time again, boys and girls.

“Look deep into my eyes. You like using Wikipedia, don’t you? You like having free access to a large database of peer reviewed, Creative Commons licensed information. You are feeling generous. Stay with my gaze. That guy from Google just gave us half a million like it was nothing. What have you done to give back lately? $5. That’s all I’m asking for. How many homeless people have you given a dollar to before? By giving Wikipedia just $5, you will not just be giving a man a fish, but potentially teaching him to fish, assuming he is fishing for Georges Bernardi. Thanks random button. You like that random button? It’s nice isn’t it. Without it I would have had to put some sort of effort into what said man might have been fishing for. That services alone is probably worth five bucks I bet. Do not stray from my eyes. Reach into your pocket. Pull out your credit card! Send $5, $10, $20, $100 or… dare I say? Other! Yes. YEEEEEEES!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”

Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales, has recently raised over $10.7M and counting for the website. His personal appeal banners became an instant meme, possibly due in part to his intense, sincere gaze.

But as the lulz continue and his campaign is showing great success, thus far, I have to pose the question: Is Jimmy Wales the greatest busker in the history of busking?
