Creative Commons Porn Campaign Announced

Author: admin | Category: Uncategorized | Tags:

Sex in the Pink, a blog that was just published on baywords (blog host dedicated to free & uncensored hosting), has announced a new project. Freedom Porn is a project dedicated to delivering amateur pornography under Creative Commons licensing in the endeavor to raise awareness of sex related issues across the spectrum.

In their own words:

Sex in the Pink is a blog about sex-positivism, where we seek to both host and promote discussion of what sex-positivism is. Sex-negativity has proven very harmful and we are here to help cultivate a healthier society. We are also working (and reporting) on a project to create the first ever free culture amateur pornography.

The mission of Freedom Porn is to empower and engage individuals to create and share ethical porn as a means of advancing sex-positivism and sexual freedom.

We advocate safer sex and consensual sex, and feminism is inseparable from our mission. We also fight for freedom of speech, privacy, and free culture. As such, we are the world’s first porn repository of entirely free cultural works. All videos are in free formats, either WebM or Ogg Theora, and we encourage the use of free software. We run on donations, so please contribute!

All ideals of improving society’s approach toward sex related issues aside, offering adult content under CC licensing is a merit on it’s own. Why should corporations dominate our penises and vaginas? Why should we look to ad bloated sites for our fap material or take direction from ad sponsors as far as what we can and can’t host? Why must one give up their name, address and credit card info if one wants to anonymously browse BarelyMidgetsInCollege.com?

There is a level of freedom which, most often, can only be reached by removing the commercial element. Content which belongs to the public is free. This freedom is inhibited, in some form or another, the moment it is considered to be owned by any individual or group of controlling entities.

I hope that this will remain at the core of the organization’s focus as it is a wide-reaching endeavor which can be held in common as a benefit to all people, in spite of any particular sex-related issue which individuals may be most concerned with.

That said, I will be looking forward to seeing what this project leads to and I wish them great success.
